First Amendment

First Amendment cases may involve a number of claims reflecting the freedoms of the clauses of the First Amendment:  freedom to worship (free exercise clause), separation of church and state (establishment clause), freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to peaceable assembly, and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances (the petition clause).

An individual’s freedom of association is also protected by the First Amendment because this freedom, according to the Supreme Court, is integral to the freedoms of speech and assembly.

In the Internet era, there are increasing conflicts between the freedom of speech and the right to privacy of individuals.

We handle all First Amendment cases:  civil cases and protest and civil disobedience criminal cases.
