Download Vcard Dr. Kim brings to the practice of law a rare combination of academic expertise in the field of jurisprudence, outstanding research, writing and communication skills, extensive international experience, and a commitment to providing excellent client service.
His doctoral studies in Europe encompassed the fields of philosophy, jurisprudence, psychology, sociology, and political science and focused on the problem-solving strategies of individuals confronted with moral and legal issues. Dr. Kim drew on this wide-ranging background while teaching at the University of California-Riverside, Seoul National University, and other Korean institutions where he created such new courses as human rights, race, gender, and the environment. His students were struck by his ability to apply the critical tools of philosophy and interdisciplinary fields to real-life problems.
As a professor, Dr. Kim’s specialty was philosophy of law, ethics, and political theory. His passion for using his knowledge and reasoning ability to tackle real life issues more directly made him become a lawyer. His work as a legal practitioner is a continuation of his work as a legal theorist. In essence, the business of philosophy is making your case through reasoning and this, too, is the business of law.
Dr. Kim has extensive experience in different cultures, an outgoing, engaging personality, and powerful persuasive skills. Above all, he is a formidable fighter. He is fluent in Korean, German, and English.
On a personal note, Dr. Kim met his soul mate and Connecticut native, Dr. Janet Niederhauser, over thirty years ago in Germany while they were writing their dissertations. Together they travelled and worked in Europe, Asia, and the United States where they now reside. Dr. Niederhauser works with Dr. Kim in his legal practice. Education
